When home is a battlefield
God takes marriage seriously — more than either of you on your worst day. He invented it. And Jesus was honest about why marriages break: “because your hearts were hard” (Matthew 19:8).
The Bible never pretends marriages don’t crack. It just tells you where to start — with your own part:
“Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry” (James 1:19).
Listen more. Say less. Cool down first.
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32).
Forgive the way you’ve been forgiven.
“Look not only to your own interests, but each of you to the interests of the others” (Philippians 2:4).
Fight for them, not just with them.
None of this is a magic trick. The Bible doesn’t sell those. This is just the part God hands you. And if you feel like the only one still trying — God knows that feeling. He calls Himself a faithful husband to an unfaithful people (Hosea 1–3). He kept loving anyway.
Not sure what to do next? “You should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault” (James 1:5). He’s not annoyed by the question.
You don’t have to sort this out alone: tell us, and we’ll pray.
