When you can’t stop
The Bible describes your exact war: “What I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do” (Romans 7:15). That’s not a weak man talking. That’s the apostle Paul.
The Bible also names the problem: “everyone who sins is a slave to sin” (John 8:34).
No shame speech. No “just try harder.” You’re not weak — you’re trapped.
That’s why the Bible’s answer isn’t willpower. It’s rescue: “Who will rescue me? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!” (Romans 7:24–25).
Jesus said it straight: “If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36).
Freedom is usually a fight, one day at a time. “Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34).
So just fight today. That’s enough.
And don’t fight in the dark: “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed” (James 5:16).
Secrets keep you sick. Light heals.
Start in the light: tell us what you’re fighting — or read what Jesus said about knocking at the worst hour.
