When you feel all alone
You can be lonely in a crowded room, a full house, even a church pew. Loneliness tells you nobody sees you and nobody would notice if you disappeared. God says something very different.
“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5).
Never. Not on your worst day, and not in your quietest room.
Jesus knows loneliness from the inside. On the night He was arrested, His closest friends fell asleep while He prayed, and then “everyone deserted him and fled” (Mark 14:50). On the cross He cried out, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46). He went to the loneliest place there is, so that you would never have to be alone forever.
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:20).
These were His last words before He went back to heaven.
“God sets the lonely in families” (Psalm 68:6).
He doesn’t only keep you company. He gives you people.
That is what the church is meant to be — a family, “not giving up meeting together” (Hebrews 10:25). If walking into a church feels scary, start small: one service, one Bible class, one person you sit beside. And choose friends who will walk with you toward Jesus: Who walks with you.
Feeling alone today? You’re not forgotten: we will pray for you by name.
