Faith is not pretending to be sure. It’s trusting Someone who has proven He’s worth it.
Faith is trust, not a feeling
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1).
Confidence in a Person — the way you trust a chair enough to actually sit down.
You already live by faith every day. You trust chairs, bridges, and doctors you just met. The question was never whether you’ll trust. It’s who.
It doesn’t have to be big
“If you have faith as small as a mustard seed… Nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20).
The power was never in the size of your faith. It’s in the size of your God.
One dad prayed the most honest prayer in the Bible: “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24). Jesus said yes to him. Half-faith, brought to Jesus, counts.
Doubt is not the opposite of faith
Thomas doubted, and Jesus didn’t lecture him — He showed him His hands (John 20:27). Quitting is the opposite of faith. Doubt that keeps walking toward Jesus has another name: faith.
Wrestling with hard questions right now? We wrote a whole section for you.
Real faith shows up in your feet
“Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead” (James 2:17).
Believing a bridge will hold you is one thing. Driving across is trust.
Faith isn’t just words we agree with. It changes how we treat people, what we do with our worry, where we go when we’re broken.
Where faith comes from
“Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ” (Romans 10:17).
Faith grows the way friendship grows: time together.
So start simple. Read one Gospel: Mark if you want the fast-moving one, John if you’re carrying questions — it was written “that you may believe” (John 20:31). And talk to Him in plain words. Faith isn’t worked up. It’s grown.
